Property energy standards: EPCs and MEES for every site
Let a building below EPC E without an exemption and you're outside the minimum standard; let a large one below B and the government proposes you'll need to improve it from 2031. The pack keeps every site's EPC, expiry date and position against the rules in one list.

Câu hỏi
- What is the minimum energy efficiency standard?
- In England and Wales, since 1 April 2023, a privately rented non-domestic property that must have an EPC needs a rating of at least E, unless the landlord has registered a valid exemption. It covers tenancies of a term certain between 6 months and 99 years. Most exemptions last 5 years.
- Is EPC B coming for commercial buildings?
- The government's June 2026 interim response proposes that from 2031 private rented buildings over 1,000 m² reach EPC B where cost effective. It only takes effect once secondary legislation passes. Buildings under 1,000 m² stay at E, and the interim EPC C planned for 2027 won't go ahead.
- How long does an EPC last?
- Ten years. The pack shows each site's expiry date and flags any running out within six months.
- We rent our offices. Is this for us?
- Yes. The minimum standard applies to your landlord, but a building below E affects your energy bills and your carbon figures, and larger buildings below B may need work before 2031 if the proposal becomes law. The pack flags both.
- Chi phí là bao nhiêu?
- The first 10 sites are free on any paid plan. After that it's £5 + VAT a site a year, or 50p + VAT a site a month, with a 12-month minimum.
- Is this legal advice?
- No. It checks the details you enter against the published guidance. Landlords should check the guidance or take advice on exemptions.
