Accountant portal: carbon reporting for your clients

Run carbon reporting for every client from one login. Each client keeps its own company, data and reports, and one dashboard shows where each of them is up to.

Who it is for

  • Accountants who prepare SECR disclosures for the directors' report in their clients' accounts
  • Bookkeepers who already hold their clients' energy bills, fuel cards and expenses
  • Sustainability and procurement consultancies writing Carbon Reduction Plans for bids
  • Practices whose clients range from sole traders with one office to groups with many sites

What it does

  • Add each client as its own company, with its own data, people, settings and reports
  • Open any client from one login, without separate accounts or passwords
  • See every client on one dashboard: reporting year, sites, how complete the data is, the year's total in tonnes CO₂e, whether the SECR report and Carbon Reduction Plan are ready, and when anyone last worked on it
  • Invite the client's own staff to add their data, while you check it and finish the reports
  • Every client gets Growth plan features: up to 10 sites, 10 users and supplier data requests
  • The same official UK conversion factors, audit trail and reports as every Carbon Recycling customer

How it works

Your practice signs up as usual and adds the Accountant portal on the billing page. From the Clients page, add a client with its name, Companies House number and financial year start. It becomes a company of its own, which you and the other admins in your practice can open straight away.

Add the client's energy, fuel, travel and spending, or invite someone at the client to add it. Carbon Recycling works out the footprint with the official UK conversion factors, and builds the SECR report for the directors' report and the Carbon Reduction Plan for public sector bids from the same data.

The Clients page lists each client with its current reporting year, number of sites, how far its data has got, the year's total in tonnes CO₂e, whether its SECR report and Carbon Reduction Plan are ready, and when it was last worked on. You can see at a glance who needs chasing before year end.

What it costs

£119 + VAT a month for each block of 10 client companies, on top of your practice's own plan. With 10 clients that's about £12 a client a month. With 25 clients you pay for 3 blocks: £357 + VAT a month. Pay yearly upfront and you pay for ten months instead of twelve.

Questions

Who owns the data?
The client. Each client is a company of its own in Carbon Recycling, and its data sits in that company, not in your practice. If a client moves to another adviser, or you stop working for them, the link is removed and everything stays with the client, who can carry on with a plan of their own.
How is it billed?
£119 + VAT a month for each block of 10 client companies, on top of your practice's own paid plan. The first client starts the first block. When you add or remove clients, the number of blocks follows, with the difference prorated. It has the same 12-month minimum as the plans, or you can pay yearly upfront for ten months' price.
Do my clients need their own plan?
No. While they're with your practice, their access comes from your Accountant portal. A client only needs a plan of its own if it leaves your practice.
Which plan does my practice need?
Any paid plan. Choose the one that suits your practice's own reporting and the number of people in your practice who need to log in, then add the Accountant portal on the billing page.
Can I try it first?
Yes. On the free trial you can add up to 2 clients and see how the dashboard and their reports work. As with the rest of the trial, reports are a preview and can't be downloaded or printed until you choose a plan.
Is this the same as the Enterprise plan?
No. Enterprise is for one group with several companies of its own, reported together. The Accountant portal is for a practice running separate, unrelated clients, which are never added up together and are billed per block of 10.
Can the client's staff see other clients?
No. Someone invited to a client company sees that company only. Only people in your practice see the client list.
