Climate risk for every site

Flood risk, heat and rainfall for each of your sites, from the official UK flood maps and the Met Office's climate projections, with a printable summary of your physical and transition risks for a tender answer or a TCFD-style disclosure.

Who it is for

  • Businesses answering climate risk questions in tenders and customer questionnaires
  • NHS and public sector suppliers asked about climate adaptation and resilience
  • Anyone preparing for UK SRS or TCFD-style climate disclosures, or answering a customer who reports under them
  • Groups with many sites who need to see which ones are most exposed

What it does

  • Checks every UK site's postcode against the flood maps for rivers, the sea and surface water, today and with climate change
  • Lists the flood warning areas near each site, so you know where to sign up for free warnings
  • Shows hot days, drier summers and wetter winters for each site's council area at 2°C and 4°C of warming
  • Gives each site a plain high, medium or low rating with a sentence on what it means
  • Prints a climate risk summary with physical risks and transition risk prompts, and downloads the results as a spreadsheet

How it works

Add your sites with their postcodes, then press Check all sites. Each postcode is located and read against the flood maps published by the Environment Agency in England, SEPA in Scotland and Natural Resources Wales, and against the Met Office's UKCP18 projections for its council area. The results are kept, so the page and the summary are ready whenever a questionnaire asks.

What it isn't

This is a desk-based screening from open government flood maps and Met Office climate projections, read at each site's postcode. It isn't a flood risk assessment, a building survey or an insurance assessment: the maps show the risk to an area of land, not to a particular building, and don't know about floor levels, flood doors or other protection.

Questions

Who needs a climate risk assessment?
Large and listed companies have to report climate risks under the UK's climate disclosure rules and, from 2027, UK SRS S2. They ask their suppliers the same questions, so tender forms and supplier questionnaires from the NHS, councils and big customers now include them. This gives you a site-by-site answer you can stand behind.
Is this a flood risk assessment or an insurance survey?
No. It is a screening from the official open flood maps and Met Office projections, read at each site's postcode. The maps show risk to an area of land, not to a building, and know nothing about floor levels or flood protection. For planning applications, insurance or buying a property, use a professional flood risk assessment.
Which parts of the UK are covered?
Flood maps for England (Environment Agency), Scotland (SEPA) and Wales (Natural Resources Wales). Northern Ireland's flood maps aren't covered yet, so Northern Ireland sites get the Met Office heat and rainfall projections only. Sites outside the UK, or without a postcode, are listed as not checked.
What do 2°C and 4°C mean?
They are levels of global warming above pre-industrial temperatures. 2°C could be reached around the 2040s to 2050s, which is within most leases and loans signed today. 4°C is a high-emissions world later in the century, a stress test. The Met Office projections show what each would mean for your sites' area.
What does it cost?
The first 10 sites are free on any paid plan. After that it is £5 a site a year, or £0.50 a site a month, plus VAT, on the same 12-month terms as the plans. With 40 sites you pay for 30: £150 a year. Anyone on the free trial can run checks and see the results before paying.
Does it cover transition risk too?
Yes, as prompts. Transition risks, such as new rules, customer demands, technology and energy costs, depend on your business, so the printed summary sets out the questions under the usual headings for you to answer in a sentence or two.
