The pages are for UK firms with sites, staff or travel abroad, and for businesses based in these countries that want their own government's figures in one place. Every number is read from the government's published file, and each page shows the edition, the licence and how to credit it.

How to use them

Find the activity, multiply your quantity by the factor shown, and note the source and year from the page in your methodology. Each page has a worked example to follow. For electricity in other countries, see electricity factors by country.

How Carbon Recycling helps

In the app, choose the country when you enter hotel nights and the right DESNZ factor is applied. On Enterprise, sites outside the UK use their own country's electricity factor; our post on official government electricity factors lists which countries use a government figure, and hotel stay emissions explains how to report business travel stays.
