Free checker tells NHS suppliers which net zero rules apply to them
Five questions show an NHS supplier what it needs now and what changes from April 2027.
For immediate release ·
Brighton, 2 October 2026: Carbon Recycling has launched a free NHS supplier carbon checker. A supplier answers five questions and sees which of the NHS's net zero requirements apply to it now, and what changes from 1 April 2027.
Since 6 April 2026, NHS Supply Chain tenders need Evergreen Level 1, which includes a PPN 006 Carbon Reduction Plan. From 1 April 2027, NHS contracts of £5 million a year or more, and all new frameworks, need a plan covering global Scope 1, 2 and all relevant Scope 3 emissions.
Carbon Recycling produces the PPN 006 Carbon Reduction Plan from a business's own data, records sites outside the UK, and works out Scope 3 purchased goods and services from spend, which is usually the largest part of a supplier's footprint. The checker is at carbonrecycling.co.uk/tools/nhs-supplier-checker.
