Carbon Recycling started as a UK tool, but more of our customers have sites, staff or customers abroad, and the people who enter the data are not always English speakers. Three updates released on 20 and 21 October 2026 mean you can now use the whole service in your own language.

Which languages

The public website, the free tools, sign-up and sign-in, and the app you use once signed in are translated into:

  • French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Dutch
  • Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Polish and Czech
  • Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional) and Indonesian

Other languages are in progress. A page in a language that is still less than 90% translated can be visited, with the untranslated parts in English, but it is kept out of search engines until it reaches that level.

วิธีการทำงาน

Each language has its own web address: /fr for French, /ja for Japanese, /de/pricing for the German pricing page, and so on. Search engines are told which pages are versions of each other, so someone searching in German should find the German page.

To switch, use the language picker at the bottom of any page. The app doesn't have the language in its addresses, so it remembers the language you picked and follows it after you sign in.

Two things never change:

  • Your names stay as you typed them. Organisation and building names are marked so they are never translated, even inside a translated sentence.
  • The English legal text applies. The terms, privacy, cookies and legal pages say that the translation is for convenience and, if it differs, the English version applies.

Reports in the country's language

Each report now has its own language, set separately from the page around it, with a picker on the report to change it. Country reports open in the language their scheme expects: France's BEGES in French, Japan's report under its mandatory GHG reporting system in Japanese, and the China exchange format in Simplified Chinese. Report wording is translated into French, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, German and Spanish, among others. A site report opens in the language of your organisation's country, and you can switch it to another, for example German for the team at a site in Germany.

UK reports are unchanged: SECR and the Carbon Reduction Plan stay in English. See the countries we report for for the reports available in each country.

Carbon Recycling ช่วยคุณอย่างไร

If you run sites abroad, local managers can now enter their own energy, travel and waste data in their own language, and you get the report each country expects in the language it expects. For overseas electricity, the free electricity CO2e by country tool uses each country's own figures, and our post on official overseas electricity factors explains where they come from. EU suppliers asked for sustainability data can read our VSME guide.
